“Researching New Medications for Your Future”

Alpine Clinical Research Center, Inc. is an independent research site established in 1994 for the sole purpose of conducting clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry. Nestled at the base of the Colorado Rockies, Alpine Research employs experienced RN’s and coordinators, who are dedicated exclusively to the coordination of research studies.  Alpine Research contracts with a variety of physicians in the community to serve as our investigators, allowing Alpine Research to work in many therapeutic areas. Alpine Research has completed numerous national and international trials for the majority of pharmaceutical companies.

Experience

The success of Alpine Research can be attributed to the strength of the people within the organization.

Peg Sharp, RN, President, and Clinical Director of Alpine Clinical Research, has been working within the industry since 1981. After moving to Boulder, Peg recognized the need for experienced investigative sites and founded Alpine Clinical Research.  Her experience within the industry includes monitoring for a CRO, managing a Phase I unit, and eventually conducting Phase II, III, and IV studies.

Paul Brownstone, MD, is the Medical Director for Alpine Clinical Research. A graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, Paul has been practicing Clinical Neurology for nearly 30 years. In 1998, he left clinical practice to join Alpine Research as the full-time Medical Director. Paul’s knowledge of not only medicine, but also the specifics of clinical research, has made him a key asset to the success of Alpine Clinical Research.

Staff

All of the study coordinators at Alpine Clinical Research are Registered Nurses and Certified Clinical Research Coordinators, who bring many years of nursing and research experience to Alpine. Due to the exceptional patient care provided by the study coordinators, the level of subject retention at Alpine Clinical Research is unparalleled.  In addition, the coordinators are aided by a recruitment specialist and a data regulatory manager.

Facility

Our facility was designed and built to address all the needs of the clinical research process.  Private and semi-private offices house our study coordinators and quiet office space is offered to monitors during their visits.

Two exam rooms plus a private infusion room are available for patient visits. In addition, the facility has a testing room, which is devoted to patient evaluations. The office is equipped with a refrigerator and freezer for biological samples and medication, a lab station, and a dedicated temperature-controlled drug room.

As a free-standing research center, our site has the advantage of utilizing a central IRB in order to facilitate an efficient IRB process.  Although independent, Alpine Research has a relationship with Boulder Community Hospital located across the street.  The convenient location of the hospital allows Alpine Research to perform any imaging studies a protocol requires.
